We are Brooks Permissions.

Our goal is to introduce or extend your knowledge about the continuing relevance of Gwendolyn Brooks. We promote, protect and provide programming and resources related to her life and work. As the former Poet Laureate of Illinois and the first Black person to win the Pulitzer Prize in any category, this innovative writer, lecturer and educator stood at the nexus of several literary movements and generations.
