The Celebration Starts TODAY!

May 1, 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of Gwendolyn Brooks winning the Pulitzer Prize for her legendary work, "ANNIE ALLEN", making her the FIRST BLACK PERSON to receive the award ever in HISTORY!! How will we commemorate? By celebrating with friends, family and fans of Gwendolyn Brooks from ALL OVER THE GLOBE!!

The #GlobalGwen initiative is an online event where YOU can show US what Gwendolyn Brooks has meant to you!! Brooks Permissions, along with more than 25 organizations will be posting special features & sharing some great works and words, celebrating this incredible milestone in not just Black but American History. It's also worth noting that several groups have even committed to extending the celebration through June 7th, her birthday.
